First Advisory Board Meeting of Digital Pakistan Conference 2020 held at IBA City Campus

The meeting was attended by Director ICT & CICT IBA Karachi Mr. Imran Batada, CEO AMFCO Technologies Mr Maroof Ayub, CEO Vipers Technologies Mr. Khushnood Aftab, CEO IBL-Unisys Mr. Muhammad Ali Qureshi, Chief Operating Officer S2 Consulting Services Salman Popatya, CIO Convo.com Ms. Fauzia Sohail, General Manager IT Muller & Phillips Pakistan Mr. Iftikhar Arif, GM IT at Atlas Battery Limited Mr. Qasim Imran, Group General Manager Ghulam Farooq Group Mr. Asad Zaidi, General Manager & Head of IT EFU Life Mr. Ashfaque Ahmed, Consultant Nift Mr. Muhammad Haider, Director IT Infrasol Mr. Rahim Ahmed, and Director Operations AMFCO Technologies Ms. Sakina Saifuddin. The meeting evidenced these C-Level Executives sharing ideas with each other about the planning and successful execution of the conference.

The meeting decided that the parallel sessions will also be part of the conference which will aim at building capacity of the participants in different areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics. It was announced at the meeting that Advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Institutional Reforms & Austerity Dr. Ishrat Husain will be the Chief Guest of the conference while several high-profile personalities from government are expected to participate in the conference. Block Chain etc. The members were of the view that the local solutions need to be appreciated and promoted. The meeting also appreciated the efforts steps taken by the government to digitalize Pakistan. However, it stressed upon the need of marketing these government initiatives.
Digital Pakistan conference will aspire to bring the largest gathering of globally successful entrepreneurs, technology experts, and leaders together so that Pakistan can be showcased as a tech-hub. The conference will explore 5 main pillars of Digitization in Pakistan which can play pivotal role in overall socioeconomic growth of the country. The conference will also provide its participants a single platform where they can not only share ideas with each other but will also be getting insights into government projects.

It should be noted that Digital Pakistan Conference will be held on 15th April 2019 at Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi. Center for Information & Communication Technology, IBA Karachi has earlier signed an MoU with AMFCO to participate in the ‘Digital Pakistan Conference 2020’ as Academic Strategic Partner.
